QUESTION: How much does an anesthesiologist make during their residency with a Ph.D? as a real anesthisiologist with a Ph.D? Do you still have to take 4 years of med school and 4 years of residency if you have a Ph.D?

Answer
Having a PhD has nothing to do with how much you make. You still need the med school and residency. The only place a PhD might have some effect is if you work in a University setting where you will also be doing research. Unfortunately, unless you have outside grant funding, your salary will actually be less since you will be doing less clinical work.
