Question
QUESTION: I will be graduating June of 2010, I live in Houston,TX and I want to pursue a career in Anesthesiology in Texas. I have been researching colleges and medical schools, 6 year finishing programs etc. I'm constantly searching but i cant seem to find out that much information. I wanted to know if you have any suggestions, information or anything that would help me during this process.
         Thank you,
         Paula Jenkins

ANSWER: I'm not sure what you're looking for? There is plenty of information about medical schools and Anesthesiology programs in Texas. With regard to 6 yr programs, not many places still do them and I don't know of any in Texas. I know a few places outside Texas that offer 6 yr programs.

QUESTION: I was initially intending to ask you about what colleges in texas and majors
you would recomend¿ for a person going into this field of work

Answer
There are numerous colleges in Texas and it depends on your grades and how much you can afford. Rice University is excellent as is UT-Austin and Baylor (to name a few). As for majors, you can major in anything you like as long as you take the pre-med required course.
