Anesthesiology/Pediatric Anestheic allergy???

Question
My son had an elective plastic surgery on his scalp 3 days ago , surgery went well, after almost 3 hours in the waiting room they recovery room staff was VERY alarmed that they couldn't wake him,  His v/s were all stable but he wouldn't wake up.  They had to give him 2 shots of a drug to reverse the sedative effect of teh anestheic.  I haven't yet been back for our check up to speak with our MD but could this be an allergy to anesthetic or should I be concerned for future surgeries??

Answer
It was not an allergy.

Speak to the anesthesiologist as to why in this day and age it took 3 hours to 'wake up'.  I can imagine  all kinds of good and bad reasons for this to happen.....perhaps the surgery went much shorter than initially planned-for?  Is your son 1-month old or is he celebrating his fiftieth birthday this year?  A more thorough answer would require a good deal more information about this surgery/anesthetic.
