Anesthesiology/oral surgery

Question
Hi,
I'm getting a tooth implant in the near future and was wondering if you are allowed to choose your form of anesthesia? How much do the different options cost? I have a VERY low pain tolerance when it comes to dental work which is why I'm worried. I've had local anesthesia for cavities before and still felt pain.

Answer
Generally these are done under deep sedation and local and most people do fine with this. If you don't wnat to do this, you will need to arrange with your dentist to have general anesthesia. He may or may not be equipped for that.
