Anesthesiology/back pain and epiderals

QuestionI have had 3 epiderals for having children, all of which were c-section. I am now having lower back pain. The other day i was playing with my nephew and he accidently kicked me right in the same spot that i had my epiderals and now my back is in even more pain and it feels like it's burning inside. I was just wondering if anything serious could be wrong and why does it feel like it's on fire.
AnswerThe location we put the epidural is the same location (coincidentally) that herniated disks most commonly occur (L4-L5). It sounds like you might have a herniated disk. This is unrelated to the epidurals you've had. I would recommend being seen by a back surgeon or a neurosurgeon if this pain persists or gets worse.
