Question
Dear Dr.Levy,
I would like to know whether a gynecologist who is not a anesthesiologist can performed general anesthesia in a D&C procedure, performed due to a miscarriage.

Answer
If you are asking if the gynecologist can perform the procedure and also the anesthetic, the answer is no. Now if there are no anesthesiologists (MDs) but there are Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA), then the MD is technically their supervisor but the CRNA is performing the anesthetic.
