Question
I'm to have a colonoscopy Monday and now, Sat nite, have a runny nose.  I have limited income, and don't want to take the prep Sunday nite if my colonoscopy will be cancelled because of my cold.  Can I have an active cold and still be sedated for my colonoscopy?

Answer
A simple runny nose should not be much of an issue for an anesthesiologist to safely anesthetize you for colonoscopy.  But do you have an anesthesiologist, or is the gastroenterologist--acting as anesthesiologist--going to administer the anesthesia??  Medications, experience managing concurrent medical issues and recovery issues differ with these varying levels of expertise.  Postpone if you feel less than great.
