Question
I had a hysterectomy on Wednesday 13 Jan 2010 (removal of everything including ovaries).  I am not in pain but feel extremely low and weepy.  Do you think that this is due to after effects of anaesthetics or just result of hysterectomy?

Answer
Hi Catherine
This is not surprising and is most likely an effect of the surgery or rather how your body is reacting to the surgery. Your body is now well into the healing phase and will be using energy and probably some of your own muscle mass to help repair itself. This is normal. You can feel very tired and emotional during this phase.
It will take a while to pass but it will.
