Question
I had a mesh removal down 6 years ago do to an infection when they put it in, now Im 550 lbs and have a basketball size hernia and was wondering why my surgeon wont do it in twilight as anesthesia is dangerous to me?

Answer
I don't know the rest of your medical history but if you already had a repair there and it got infected, the  current operation will be a lot more involved and "twilight" anesthesia will probably not be enough. Ideally you should lose significant weight before they repair the hernia to improve the chances for longterm success. Failing that, a general (or regional) anesthetic would be a better option.
