Anesthesiology/low blood pressure way after surgery

Question
I have blood pressure of 64/42 after surgery and had to be re-admitted. During surgery my pressure was 40 and for several weeks after it was between 76-65 over 45-54. No one seems to know why and I'm going in for more surgery and was wondering what you thought. Thank you, Karen

Answer
I hope by "no one" you have included the anesthesiologist who provided the anesthesia service for your original surgery.  He or she should have reviewed your history and the record of the anesthetic, surgery and recovery room to formulate a list of contributing factors leading to your blood pressure issue. (By the way--who else besides your anesthesiologist even had access to that info?)

But in the absence of all of those things to which only he or she has access, I really can't pinpoint what caused the problem or tell you what to avoid in the future to minimize or prevent its recurrence.  (?antihypertensives ? central alpha-agonists? phenothiazines ?antihistamines? ?reversal agents?)  There are simply too many possibilities to make a diagnosis given limited information.
