Anesthesiology/blood pressure medication okay before general anesthesia?

Question
I currently take Micardis daily for high blood pressure.  Should I continue taking it prior to being put under general anesthesia for my hip replacement surgery?  Thanks-

Answer
Generally we have patients continue their blood pressure medication on their regular schedule but this is anesthesiologist specific. When you have your pre-op evaluation, they will tell you which medications to continue and which to stop before surgery. If they don't, you should ask them.
