Question
Hi,
I'm scheduled for arthroscopy day after tomorrow but developed a head cold three days ago. Its mainly headache, sneezing and runny nose. Is this something that could impact being able to have the surgery?
Thanks,
Jo

Answer
Hi Jo
It might mean that you will be cancelled - rather depends on how you are on the day. If the runny nose has settled then hey may well proceed but many anaesthetists are very conservative about giving anaesthesia in patients with a cold for a non life threatening problem.
All the best
