Anesthesiology/swollen lip

Question
I also have a swollen lip after cystoscopy done last night - top lip is cut and very swollen.  Will it go down, is it infected, should I put antiseptic cream on it, or ice. What do you think?

Answer
Hi Cheryl
It is unlikely to be infected as this sounds like the result of trauma to your upper lip. If you want you can put some ice in a cloth or a small packet of frozen peas and hold that against your lip - but don't overdo it. Otherwise just keep your lips moist using some simple lip balm or vaseline.
It should settle over the next few days.
Kind regards
