Question
I've heard of private practice anesthesiologists. Can they actually do that,
contract to hospitals? Is this not the way to make more money?

Answer
[I thought I answered this question already, so pardon me if this is a duplicate]

Yes, of course they can do this...it's simply a matter of contracts between two willing entities.  Whether or not "more money" will be made will certainly depend on the nature/terms of the contract.  Perhaps this question is better asked of a legal, business or contracts expert. (I'm an anesthesiologist trained in medical school to be an expert in medicine!)
