Question
QUESTION: Hi, I'm interested in becoming an anesthesiologist. I'll be going to college soon, and I need to know my major. I'm aware that a medical-related major is relevant. However, from your perspective, what is the most relevant major for becoming an anesthesiologist?

ANSWER: Actually a medically relevant major is NOT required. You can major in anything you want (even Art History) as long as you take all the pre-med required courses.

QUESTION: I'll be attending a JC than I hope to transfer. How do I know the pre-med courses I need to enroll in?

Answer
None of your JC courses will likely count towards your pre-med requirements. If you are going to a JC just so you can get up to speed with the workload expected of you at a university or to improve your grades before applying, then that's OK, otherwise, skip JC as it will help you towards becoming a physician.
