Question
Hello, thank you for taking the time to answer my question.  I am 35, have an associates in Psychology and a Bachelor's in MIS, I have a decently established 15 year career in Information Technology, however recently (the last year and a half) I have been thinking about returning to school and changing careers to get into medicine.  I know which classes I need as far as pre-requisites and am confident I will be able to do well on the MCAT.  The main question I have is will it be possible to go through Med School and still be a good father/husband.  I already work odd schedules and I am on a call rotation for criticial issues with the network.  I am really motivated to get this done, but I have considered the Physicians Assistant path due to my family obligations.  What are you thoughts?

Answer
It depends on your specialty choice. If you choose something like surgery, you hours will suck while if you choose dermatology, radiology, opthamology, pathology or others, it's not too bad. It really depends on your interests. I am married for many years with two kids so I guess it worked out for me.
