I recently had open heart surgery. I am now having difficulty  identifying colors and wondered if that was another side effect of the anesthesia. The surgery was 12/1/10. Thank you . Donna Belott

I can't explain why you are having trouble but it is not related to anesthesia. It is possible (and this is PURELY a guess) that the area of your brain that controls that may have been affected by the surgery but I would have no way to confirm that. I would suggest speaking to a neurologist who might be able to give you more information.
