Anesthesiology/Chronic cough

Question
I had a hysterectomy 1 year ago and have had a chronic cough ever since.  I seem to have a persistent "tickle" in my throat and feel it might be related to an improper intubation.  I was in the recovery room for 9 hours after surgery and remained intubated while awake (albeit very sedated) until just before being released.  I have had both chest and heart scans which reveal no problems.  Any advice or direction would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
I can't answer about an improper intubation but I would recommend being seen by an ENT surgeon. They can use a flexible fiberscope to look at your vocal cords, etc., to see if everything is functioning well. Other than that, I can't think of any reason why you would have a persistent cough.
