Anesthesiology/day surgery with nardil

Question
I am currently on 75 mgs of Nardil daily and need to have a systoscopy with anesthesia due to gross hematuria. Is it safe to have this procedure done while I am on this medication?

Answer
You are at an increased risk for complications related to the Nardil but it could be just as dangerous to stop the medication. Since the procedure is not purely elective, it will be up to your anesthesiologist and internist how to proceed. There are certainly ways to provide a safe anesthetic and they will discuss these with you.
