Question
I am taking an MAO Inhibitor (Nardil) and am going to have a
colonostomy (the test) Will the anesthesia the doctor uses
be okay with the MAO (Nardil) or will I have to stop taking  it?

Thank you.

Answer
There should not be a problem having a colonoscopy while on Nardil since this is routinely done  under sedation, but the final decision will be up to the anesthesiologist. You should never stop taking Nardil on your own.If they want you to stop it, have your regular doctor monitor that.
