Anesthesiology/post epidural pain

Question
I had an epidural on 10/25/2011. I had some pain down my left leg during insertion but they were able to adjust and relive the pain. However to date I still have some mild pinching pain at the actual insertion site.Would this be considered normal post epidural pain?

Answer
It is normail to have pain at the insertion site for several days or a week but it is unusual over a month out. If the pain has been getting better then it will probably go away. If it is getting worse or if there is redness over the insertion site, you should probably get it checked out. This is not related to the pain down the leg.
