Question
I had esophageal cancer surgery May 20....I have heard that the anesthesia remains in the body for 2 weeks for every hour of surgery....true?

Answer
False! Don't believe everything you read. Most anesthetics are out of the body with 24 hours. We routinely do cases that last 4-6 hours and sometimes as long as 10-15. If the anesthesia would still be around 8 months later (30 weeks) that wouldn't be very practical!
