QuestionI am soon going to be a senior in High school, I have planned on and it has been my dream and hopes to become an anesthesiologist. I just don't know what steps to take after High School. I don't know what to do when it comes to picking a college. I first thought i could attend an Ivy Tech State college to recieve my RN then transfer to a college of Anesthesia. Does that sound legit?
AnswerNope. here is no college of anesthesia. If you want to be an anesthesiologist you need 4 yrs of college, 4 yrs of medical school and 4 yrs of anesthesiology residency. If you want to be a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) you need 4 yrs of college (nursing degree) and 2 or 3 yrs of anesthesia training. Any college is fine as long as you take all the prerequisite courses and do well on them.
