Question
I am a 25 yro female about to undergo a breast reduction surgery and I have recently had an EP study confirming PSVT they circuit was not ablated and I stopped using beta blockers about 6 months ago. I only use on an as needed basis. My question is, is it safe for me to undergo surgery, I have an extremely sensitive heart and the surgery could take up to 6 hours. SHould I be ok to have this preformed?

Answer
Obviously you are at increased risk compared to an otherwise healthy person, but that doesn't mean you can't have the surgery. As long as the anesthesiologist is aware of your condition, he/she can take appropriate precautions should you have another arrhythmia. When you meet the anesthesiologist bewfore surgery, let him know what you have and what has worked to treat you.

Good Luck,
