QuestionGood Evening Dr. Ronald Levy,
I am now a Sophmore in high school and I am very intersted in becoming an Anesthesiologists, and have decided that that is what i wanted to do with my life. I was doing lots of research on the computer one day and i was told that instead of having to go through the 4 years of college and then 4 years of medical school; i could just combine those years into 6 years of school instead of the traditional 8 years of school and i was wondering if you could give me a list of colleges/universities that their teachings into 6 years. I would truely appreciate if the list of colleges/universities were located in Georgia. Thank you
AnswerThere are still a few universities that offer a 6-yr medical school program but I don't know specific schools and I actually don't recommend doing it. You lose alot of the college experience by doing that, you graduate without the maturity you need to function well and you don't get enough of the non-science courses to make you a well rounded individual. Obviously you can do what you want (particularly if money is an issue) but I suggest doing the traditional pathway.
