Question
Hello,
I am a freshman in Highschool wondering what my grades should be like and what courses I should take in college in order to one day be in your line of work. I also want to know how long the residency usually lasts.

          sincerly,
                  Myke

Answer
Hi Myke

You really need to ask one of my American colleagues about this as I am UK based and don't have a clue about your system. In the UK we need the highest grades to get into medical school. We then complete our medical training and go on to specialise in anaesthesia. The average age of completion of training is around 32.
All the best, it is worth it!
