Anesthesiology/Feeling

Question
Have you ever heard of a condition/disease/disabilty that is the cause of chronic and total loss of feeling throughout the body? I'm thinking perhaps something that would damage the part of the brain that interprets nerve signals and interprets them as pain, pressure, and other physical sensations on the skin, in the body, etc.

If you've never heard of this, do you know what part of the brain is responsible for physical sensations so that I may research this issue further?

Thank you!

That is a difficult one! I'm aware that Leprosy causes loss of feeling in parts of the body and I would imagine there is bound to be some other condition(s) that cause what you are describing.

However this is totally outside my area of expertise - suggest you try a Neurologist.

Many apologies
