Question
Hi,my son had tooth extraction last friday under general anesthesia.Sinse saturday afternoon he developed unusal rash to the different parts of his body,he dont have any history of allergy including food(not even peanuts ),he is five years old,we went to uor doctor for him to be check but the doctor just told me observe for couple of weeks, which im not happy because i dont know what sort of food that he allergy on,he is eating the usual food that i prepare since before and i even trying to avoid any nuts at the moment but still hew is still having the rash.My question is is there a possibility that my son had a delayed or a side effecf from general anesthesia?

Answer
No. This is not anesthesia related but it is more likely related to medications he was put on after surgery. If he was placed on antibiotics, or pain meds, he might be allergic to that. It is probably not a food allergy unless he is eating new foods. If he is on medications, you should stop giving them and take him to see your doctor.

Hope this helps,
