AnswerHi I am based in the UK and so my answers may be differenty from my American colleagues
How many hours per day and week on average would an anesthesiologist work?
We work between 40-48 hours per week on average.
Is traveling required?
Only if you live a long way from work.
What is the office atmosphere like?
Work in theatres most of the time and so not really office. It is about teamwork though and so usually it is a good atmosphere with plently of conversation. Get's serious when dealing with patients who are unwell.
What is the dress code?
Theatre blues, hat and mask. Outside theatres we are now encourgaed not to wear ties, to wear short sleeved shirts and not wear a watch to help reduce spread of infection.
What computer and people skills are needed?
Computer skills are an advantage but not necessary. People skills are vital - you need to learn how to manage and lead a team in theatres when this is necessary and also know when to keep your head down and merely provide support when necessary!
