Anesthesiology/allergy

Question
My 4 yr old's dentist will not use anesthesia on her for dental work because she has a soy allergy.  He said most anesthesia sits in a soy base.  Are there other anesthesias that do not contain soy?

Answer
Other than Propofol, I am not aware of any anesthetics that have allergies with soy products. If that is all your dentist is comfortable with, you might need to find another dentist or have the procedure done in a hospital with a fully qualified anesthesiologist.
