Question
I am suppose to get anesthesia before they put a scope to check out my stomach. I heard that if you took street drugs in your life that this could affect the anesthesia. Is this true?
Ive done pot and lsa (similar to lsd). I havent done any illegal drugs in about 7 months.

Answer
Alex

Basically as you have been off drugs for 7 months this will not be a problem. Best to be honest with those who are looking after you though.

As an anaesthetist it is important that I know that you use these drugs (how often, amount and which drugs) so I can then tailor your anaesthetic appropriately.

Usually this is not a problem.
