Anesthesiology/did something dumb

Question
Hi,

I would like your opinion.  I am having a cerclage placed in my cervix for pregnancy today.  They will be putting me to sleep.  I was not supposed to eat or drink after midnight last night.  The procedure is at 1:00pm today.  This morning, at 8:20am, I accidentally took two really tiny bites of my daughters oatmeal to see if it was too hot for her.  The surgery is in 4 1/2 hours.  In your opinion, is this a reason to cancel the procedure?

Answer
Michelle

I'm sure I'm too late but my answer for what it's worth is no this is not a good reason to cancel the procedure.

I wish you all the best around what must be a worrying time for you.

Good luck for an uneventful pregnancy
