Anesthesiology/menstrual spotting after lumbar steroid epidural injections

Question
I have just had my second set of lumbar steroids epidural injections and fustar(?). I have had a couple of days of menstrual spotting after these procedures. They have been done under sedation, so I am not sure if this is a side effect of the anesthesia or what. I do take a low hormone birth control pill. Thanks.

It should not be a side effect of the sedation or the local anaesthesia involved. Given the localised nature of the steroid injection it shouldn't really effect your menstrual cycle either.
Perhaps fasting for these procedures has affected your absorption of the low hormone pill?
Difficult to see a link but there may well be one. Just be wary of the effectiveness of the pill if you have had some spotting. If further problems consult your GP.
Sorry can't provide a definitive answer.
Kind regards
