Question
HI - I would like to know if in the true brain dead patient - do they still have spinal reflexes independent of the brain ? thank you very much. Pete

Answer
You can have spinal reflexes (as these are a local loop independent of the brain) but you do not have any central reflexes (corneal etc). It is the same as someone who has had a spinal cord transection, they still have [hyper] reflexes below the transection.
