Anesthesiology/DO vs. MD

Question
Does it matter if I am an Anesthesiologist with an M.D. or D.O. and why is it there are few D.O. schools?

Answer
To me it doesn't matter but to many people it does. Most people still don't understand what a DO is.  There are numerous reasons for this that I won't go into here. This is probably also the reason why there are fewer schools. This being the case, if you can get into an alopathic (MD) program, do it becuase in the long run ou will have less problems seeking out your residency or practice opportunity.
