Who is Illyria?
Illyria is one of the ancient Gods - think back to Glory it's a similar thing to that. She was awoken by her servant using poor Gunn as an unknowing accomplice and took on Fred's body or shell (just as Glory used Ben's).
So Fred's dead and Illyria is using her body to walk on earth.
