Question
Hi. I'm doing a project on animals used for entertainment. I know that zoos are a form of entertainment that exploits animals for profits. However, I am having a bit of trouble finding info on specific instances of animal abuse or  violations of the animal welfare act for zoos, especially San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. I'm not very familiar or educated on this topic and personally, the San Diego Wild Animal Park seems to be doing a good job at providing its animals with ample space and imitation of their natural environment. I'd love to know the facts and would be appreciative of any help. Thanks so much!

Answer
I would consult with various animal rights protest industry groups such as the Humane Society of the United States and PETA.  They will have plenty of info for you.

I do hope you research the role that zoos play in protecting endangered species by keeping their genetic material alive. Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha NE would be an important site for that info.
