I took my older dog to the vet., because he had thrown up the day before and wasn't holding down anything.  Vet ran blood work and told me that he was having a pancreatic attack.  He gave him a 50/50 chance.  The next G, my dog looked great., That following day, he died.   I have now learned that G's bloodwork also showed that his sugar levels were more than double what they should of been and that he was a diabetic.  This doctor was treating him with a I.V. drip that contianed sugar.  Although this was not my regular doctor, the treating doctor did work at my regualr doctors office.  My regular doctor would of never let this happen, the treating doctor no longer works there, however I feel that this is not enough.  He blattenly killed my little boy, and if this was a person or a child more would of been done.  What can I do so that I dont hurt my regualr vet., but this murderer pays for killing my baby.

I'm so sorry about your dog and that I didn't see this question until now.  Somehow it didn't get into my email like the other questions.

My suggestion is to ask Animal Control or find a local Humane Society and give them a call.  They are much more informed on the legalities of your state in regards to accidents/errors which cause death.

I have 2 myself and would be crushed if something happened to them.

Again, I am sorry I didn't get back to you until now.  Please let me know how things go.  I wish you the best and hope that you get some kind of compensation (like there could be any).
