Question
i have to do a research paper on Animal farming contributing to Animal Cruelty. is it true that they separate male chicks at birth and suffocate them in trash bags?

Answer
HI Chelsey,

Sorry for the delay in answering - I didn't get the email telling me there was a question pending....

Yes, it is true that male chicks are separated (not needed for egg production) and suffocated, put in a grinder, or just merely thrown away to die of starvation.  A good video to see as proof (there are many) is here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hks86Xxx1ZE

Another one:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYGRTuB_G_4&feature=related

These are undercover investigations done when the industry doesn't know one of it's employees are actually animal rights activists.  It's very sad.

Thanks and again, sorry for the delay!
