Question
hey
ok so im doing this project for my civics class and i have a couple of questions.

1.how many animals are severely damaged from abuse a year?

2.what kind of animal abuse is there?

3.how many animals die a year from animal abuse?

4.is an animal in the circus considered animal abuse?

5. what kind of testing is done in labs?

Answer
Hi Cheyenne,

I can answer some of your questions, but generally, this is quite a bit!

1.  Depending on what you call severely damaged, all animals that are raised for food are severely damaged (abused).  There is a small percentage that are raised by caring farmers, but that is only about 12% (estimate).  The rest are all factory farmed animals.

2.   Please see this video for the answer to this one as it is too broad:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIjanhKqVC4

3.  10 billion animals die for food every year, just in the United States.

4.  Yes, the circus abuses animals regularly.

5.  I can't answer this one, but this link can:  http://www.vivisectioninfo.org

Hope this helps -  I guarantee you, after you watch these video's  you will have a lot better paper/project.
