Question
My co-worker is having problems with cats in his neigbourhood. He's getting to the point were he wishes he could shoot them. Since thats against the law he's going to get live traps and turn the poor cats into the pound. It breaks my heart thinking of the possiblity of these cat being put down due to there owner lack of control over there animal. Is there anything that you can purchase that keeps the cats off of his yard thats humain? I realy dont want to hear of these poor cats being hurt, it breaks my heart.

Answer
by live trap, I think you mean cage traps?

Yes, it is unfortunate that free-ranging cats are allowed to roam free and ravage the environment. But the cat lobby is quite powerful and until people recognize the environmental damage caused by cats nothing will be done. (By the way, I own two cats but they don't go outdoors.).

The easiest solution is to fence the cats out. Purrfect fence can be installed. but I doubt he wants to spend the money that. He can play with other technqiues listed at http://www.icwdm.org but he won't find success in them (no counting trapping and shooting).

there are no sprays that will work on free-ranging animals.
