I am a sixth grader in the gifted and talented program at spring branch middle school in Houston Texas. I am arguing a debate and I am against animal testing. I think its cruel and unnecessary. I was just wondering if you could give me some general facts about animal rights and if there rights protect them from animal testing

Thank you first, for defending them... they need that desperately.

Since I am not an expert in the animal testing field, I'm referring you to a website that will answer all of your questions, and give you a lot of ammo.

As far as rights - most animals, minus domesticated pets, don't have many rights.  The animal rights movement is working to change that, but as yet, have only made small strides.

Good luck in your debate - it is horrifying what is done to animals in labs.
