QuestionHello,
My name is Haley, and I am doing a school project on animal rights. I am giving the pros and cons of animal testing. I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind answering a few questions about this topic. An expert’s opinion about animal rights would greatly benefit this assignment. Thank you for your time.
Do you think animals should have the same rights as humans when it comes to medical testing?
What are some alternatives to animal testing?
About how many animals would you say are used for testing per year?
Do you think that any certain kind of animal is tested more than other animals?
If no harm was caused, could human volunteers be used for testing rather than animals?
What are some pros of animal testing?
What are some cons of animal testing?
Was there ever a time when products weren’t tested on animals?
AnswerHaley,
I think the best person to read would be Wesley J. Smith's book A Rat is a Pig is a Dog is a boy, how Animal rights diminishes humanity.
He has a chapter that explains why animal testing is so critical to responsible medicine and why the animal rights movement is a threat to human dignity and human rights.
