Jake,
you have no heart at all!
Animals were put on this earth just like humans, so that they can live their lives, just like we do!
But animal testings are wrong! You are an evil sod!
You sound mad and must have had a bad childhood and expierance with animals!

I have changed my mind about animals. They should not be hurt, used, or tested on. I am sorry for the rough words i have used.
I request that you remove me previous post. Please :) Thank you.

I'm sorry Jake Nettle (what the hell kinda name is that anyway?), but your view is so conservative and close-minded that while reading it I was practically sick. Meat and animal testing are two completely different things. I am not a vegetarian myself but I find the way that the animals are treated quite sad. God may have put animals on Earth to be used but not freaking tortured, retard. And no one says STFU anymore. So go home take a nap and hide in a box... FOREVER!!!

insulin is from animals. cures for many diseases come from animal testing. plants CANNOT give you the same vitamins and minerals as meat does.
if you are against the "cruel" treatment of animals, you shouldn't wear any cotton blends, shouldn't support fur or leather wearers by not buying their clothes (kimora lee simmons, guche? coco blah blah, etc.), don't drink milk. and most of all, if you ever do get sick, like cancer or the flu or malaria, don't go to a doctor to get it cured because the cure probably came from an animal somehow.

Jake,Animal Testing Is Wrong it makes animals suffer. If you dont think it is so bad how about you let them try there products on you & see how you like it.
also there is no great advantages to it,
im sure more people would rather have Gods' creatures to live other then having there products.& yes people do eat animals but they kill our daily animals and test them for there cheap sh*ty products that are useless.
i could care less about our medical condition because im sure we'll make it through.
& God didnt put these animals on Earth to be used he put them on this earth to be loved & taken care of not to be killed in some lab for other people's products.Animals Trust Very easily but the Animal Testers break that trust!

Yeah seriously Jake! 94% is for cleaning items and cosmetics! You obviously have a closed mind and no education on animal testing! I know what I'm talking about because I have a million pages of research for a debate I'm doing about animal testing. THANK GOD I'M ON THE CON SIDE!!! But seriously1 I know what I'm talking about when I say you support murder because animals have as much of a right to live as humans and death during testing should be charged as murder! Even when only blush is tested, scientists kill the rabbit, and no very quickly and painlessly, either! The rabbit is BEHEADED!!! And sorry I actually care about animals! You are obviously uneducated, close-minded, and cruel so I won't waste anymore of my time with you because I have better things than try to explain to you that animal testing is bad because I'm pretty sure that talking to you is like talking to a wall-pointless! I'm going to go change someone's mind that matters!
Yours NEVER,
-Abby

I do have a very open mind when it comes to diet and animal welfare but i have to say one thing. Earlier this year a friend of mine was in intensive care with cancer of the blood. He was very ill and for his friends and family it was a very difficult time. However over a long time he recovered. He would not be alive today without animal testing and although of course it can be a horrible thing. I do believe it is completely worth it because it saved my friend.
Secondly. I eat meat because i like meat and i make the conscious decision to eat free-range food so that i am eating animals that have been treated well in their lifetime. People that say it is cruel to kill an animal to eat in my personal opinion are quite ignorant. It is perfectly naturally to eat meat. Animals eat other animals it is a food chain that is balanced. In my opinion belongs if the animals are treated nicely in their lifetime it is perfectly exceptable and indeed natural.
I would love to get some response to this
Robert

I agree with Jake, not his reason but with him in general. Also to all vegans...There is nothing wrong with your life style but meat is a necessary part of the human diet. If we were ment to be herbivors all our teeth would be big and flat. Its really annoying to hear people say how wrong it is to eat meat when thats what it was put here for. You're at the top of the food chain so suck it up and have a burger!

this is soo boring man,, u people should go jump srsly, animal testing is good ok,, just fkn wake up and snap the fuk out of it..if its soo bad then dnt eat meat loosers..this is so draining my lifeeeeeee.
Sparkwire wrote at 2009-09-09 14:16:39
What about wild animals that get eaten every day? Are you going to try and stop that? No, you aren't. its the same thing, those animals are suffering, but you do NOTHING. You hypocrite.
jo wrote at 2009-09-21 07:11:38
I don't agree with Jake's approach to this subject. Yet, If you are suffering from an incurable disease and they find a way to cure it (using animal testing), you are going to be very happy. Right? Would u rather them spend hundreds of years trying to find cures on bacteria?? So animals wont be hurt by humans. I wonder how many diseases will be cured during that time. How many people will die. Are animals more important to you people then Humans? This is a debate that is never going to go away. If you want to die rather then test on animals that's fine with me. Personally I want to live.

heyup
I'm a vegetarian
i think animal testing is bad, and that animals should be cared for. I just think that the results are completely innaccurate. I mean, thinki of what they eat. We never would jump out and eat a RAW DEER or maybe even hay?
Let me tell you a story
my feriend said tome "animalm testing is good vegetarianism is bad and fur looks great"
then she said
"my friend Callie says that people with pets are lonely"
and i think callie doesn't exist so i said
"well Callie can stuff it,"
so then she got ALL ANGRY sooo yess
charles wrote at 2009-10-21 15:07:38
they are bad in some ways, but if u look at it in a different way . animals saved our lives. we owe them something. but animal testing has its pros and cons just like everything else. you shouldn,t wirte ur opinion in an insulting way. lets try to be civilized guys.
Amy V wrote at 2009-10-29 12:04:50
i think animal testing can be good and a bad thing, a good because we can use vaccines- that we no are SAFE! and also people kill animals for fur, bone and meat etc.. so scientists using animals for testing is using them for a good thing! it can be bad because we ( humans ) dont know if it hurts the animals or if they are in any pain.. :/

You are a pompose oaf!!! God almighty put animals on this earth for us to use wisely, not to manipulate them cruelly for our own benefits. so you stfu!!!! you

I love it how everyone is criticizing Jake in such a violent way. All of you are getting upset about how he thinks animal testing is right. And i completely agree that animal testing is necessary to sustain human life. It may even be said that the only reason you live in a nice house house and in a nice neighbour hood is because your country is economically stable as a result of advancements in medicine and advancement in process that have now been developed to waste less money. Without the even minor benefits that animal based research has given us, your society would not be functioning as it is today. Please go and live in Africa before you begin to complain. And as you feel that Jake is being inhumane, how about reading the comments you have published, those are truly inhumane

Animal testing is bad !!!
94% of animal testing is done on cosmetics and house hold products leaving only 6% on medical research. There has been proven that there is already enough existing safety data, as well as in vitro (test tube) alternatives to make animal testing even more unnecessary. Animals that have been tested can go through unimaginable pain and they are at a high risk of death. The most common animals that are being tested are mice, rabbits, dogs, guinea pigs, cats and monkeys. Some of these animals have been bread for testing but most have come from the pound. The LD50 test short for lethal dose, is one of the worst tests that was developed back in 1927 and is still in use today. Groups of animals are dosed with different amounts of a test substance in order to determine the dose which kills half of the animals! Animals are often force-fed the substance. The LD50 test is known to use huge, unrealistic doses that are completely unrelated to possible exposure levels. There are now other tests available that use less animals and lower doses, yet this old, discredited LD50 test continues. During another common test, the Draize eye-and skin-irritation test, rabbits are immobilized in full-body restraints while a substance is dripped or smeared into their eyes or onto their shaved skin. Rabbits often scream in pain and many break their necks trying to get free. The Draize test has been proven in studies to "grossly over predicted the effects that could be seen in the human eye, and does not reflect the eye irritation hazard for man". The human four-hour patch skin test has proved to provide chemical skin-irritation data that are "inherently superior to that given by a surrogate model, such as the rabbit."

hey ,what that Jake guy said about animal testing being GOOD pisses me off. God didn't put animals on the earth to be dominated. He said have dominion over the animals, not domination. Geez, Jake should read his bible more often.

what the cow is wrong with you think about all the endangered species. And yes he/she does know what they eat and the animals most commonly used for research purposes are cats, dogs, rats, and monkeys which no body eats
Anon wrote at 2011-03-26 22:31:57
I am for animal research simply because humans who are ill with the certain illnesses that there are cures for would not be alive today. Yes, animal cruelty is involved, but if you really think about it, how else will the research be done if not the way it already is? There is proof that cures have been discovered because of animal research. Humans have more of a reason to live than an animal. As harsh as that sounds, which i don't mean to put it that way because i have a pet, it is the truth. I just hate how animal activists from PETA make it out to be. To be all honest, I believe those who tag along with them no nothing but the bad side of it. If they would just do some more research into it and view the good as well, I am sure they will have much more of an opinion on it. To add to this because I am for animal research does not mean I am for animal testing on products and such. It has been said as well that scientists are looking for alternatives for animal research but until then they will continue to on animals because that is the only way they can discover cures. I mean seriously, if you had a loved one or a close friend who has AIDS or even cancer, wouldn't you want cures discovered to save their lives? People need to realize this. They aren't doing this to have fun or think that its cool to torture animals.
