Question
Hello Andrew, just a quick question for you:
What 3d modeling/animation programmes do the film makers Pixar use?

I understand they have there own rendering programme called renderman? but out of interest would like to know what else they use.

Many thanks
lee

Answer
Hey Lee, you are correct regarding Pixar and their proprietary Renderman. Beyond that, most studios will use video editors such as After Effects, Combustion or Shake. Of course I'm sure there's plenty of Photoshoping as well. From what I've heard, they use Maya for modeling (Renderman is [appropriately named] just a renderer).
