Question
hello,
i am learning animation in 3d max.please guide me.
when i think of making a small animation like a jump, how do i decide what is breakdown and inbetweens. Is inbetween different from anticipation?
another question, while i make a hand move with a hammer onto a nail,i made the first and last extreme,an easein and an anticipation in opposite direction.do i need to put an inbetween here, and how do i decide this pose if i need to put it.
please help.
thanks

Answer
For you first question, I would make a keyframe at the beginning of your characters jump and at the apex of it's jump. You probably want it to ease in and out when the character is at the top.

For the second question, I think you just need to ease out at the start of the hammer dropping and then no ease in at all for the actual hitting of the nail. You should be using the Curve Editor to see the motion curve. Essentially for this action the curve should be gradual at first and then end with a very steep angle.

Hope this helps....
