Animation/resolution

Question
What is the best resolution (for possible enlargement to a 35mm print) to render a clip in After Effects?

So far I've been rendering as MPEG2.

Answer
35mm refers to an analog format, if you know what size print you'd like to make it's easier to establish an appropriate digital resolution. The HD sizes (1280x720 or 1920x1080) are fine for 3"x5" or 4"x6". Typically you'd like to keep the DPI at around 300. DVD MPEG2 is only 720x480 so printing at that resolution will produce low quality results on all but the smallest sizes...
