    How much does a cartoon animator usually make?

In a California Union Shop these are the minimums. Most people make slightly above that at this time. See the URL below for wages

    What is the working enviroment like?

Different Studios=Different environments. I've worked in places that were creative and fun and others that were like sweatshops.

Talent & ability outweigh formal education unless you want to teach.

Patience. Communication skills. Problem solving. Sense of humor. Knowledge of music and acting.



    How is the job out look or competitiveness?

Right now it's extremely competitive. There are more professional people than there are jobs so you have to be way above average to land a job.
