Animation/AE timeline

Question
I'd like to make changes to a short movie in After Effects, but it only renders a small portion of it. How can I extend the timeline to render the whole movie?

Answer
hi jim,

if the length of the timeline is shorter than the length of the clip, then you need to extend the timeline. you can do this by selecting your comp, then clicking command-K (alternatively you can select "Composition Settings" in the "Composition" menu). once you have opened the Composition Settings window, adjust the Duration of the comp to be at least as long as your clip.

another possibility is that the Duration of your compoistion is already long enough, but you are only rendering out the Work Area, not the Length of Comp. Check in your render settings that you are rendering Length of Comp.

pls let me know if you have any other questions. thanks!
