hello... I would just like to know whether it is possible to create effective  cartoon clips without action script... I adopted the technique of creating animations frame by frame in flash... I don't use action script... Still I find comfortable with my animations...Is it a better way to proceed? or do you suggest me to learn action script?

It certainly would be helpful to learn actionscript, but if you're comfortable doing it frame by frame there's nothing wrong with that... Actionscript may help you with more complex features such as interaction with the user, simple animations that just play may not see much benefit from actionscript. I would ask the guys in the Flash category here though, I'm sure they have more insight into this...
